How durable is the Slim Case for AirTag? Will the fitment become loose after prolonged use?Updated 2 years ago

Very durable. We have done 1000x cycle tests on assembling and disassembling the AirTag and keyring, and the test results show no signs of decline in AirTag to Slim Case fitment and no signs of wear on both the Slim Case and keyring. 

How easy is it to snap an AirTag in and out of the Slim Case?

The interaction is quite similar to one of a typical smartphone case. It’s easy yet secure. To be more specific, it requires approximately 20N of force.

How secure is the fitment between the Slim Case and keyring?

Very secure. With the AirTag snapped into the Slim Case, it is not possible to remove the keyring.
Once the AirTag is removed, the keyring can be easily removed from the Slim Case.

How secure is the AirTag to Slim Case fitment?

It is very secure under normal use. We conducted drop tests on concrete surfaces at 1.2m height to ensure the AirTag does not disassemble from the Case when accidentally dropped. However, we cannot guarantee the AirTag to Slim Case security under unforeseeable and extreme cases of abuse. 

How durable is the PVD coating (applicable to the Black version)?

PVD is a coating applied to the exterior surfaces of the stainless steel hardware. Although this coating is extremely durable, it is not indestructible and can show signs of wear over time, depending on the use case.
